 Space Clearing and Other Building Related Rituals

While many people these days are familiar with Feng Shui, Space Clearing and other building related rituals remain a mystery to most. Some people associate Space Clearing with smudging sage, others with clearing clutter, but not too many understand how Space Clearing actually works and why we use it.
Space Clearing and other rituals are a way of accessing the world of Spirit to communicate our wishes for wellbeing, good health, prosperity and happiness to the universe. I know this sounds questionable to many and I felt the same way some years ago. Being an engineer I would never believe anything that I could not experience for myself. But I was very determined to have my own experiences in the unseen world of energies and Spirit. I did many hours of meditation and other practices to make my perceptions clear and to train my body to become sensitive to different types of energies or different vibrations. Believe me, it is not too difficult and almost anybody can do it with a certain amount of training. Everything around you is energy and you can experience all kinds of lower frequency disturbances just by visiting places like malls, hospitals and your friends' houses after arguments or sickness. You can find higher frequency vibrations in places like temples, beautiful nature spots and homes that are designed with Feng Shui principles.
Various rituals are performed for different purposes. Here are some examples.
 Earth Healing Rituals are designed to correct and bring balance and vitality back to disturbed sites that are stressed as a result of human activity or some natural energetic processes that are happening in the Earth (read more about Geopathic Stress)
Ground Breaking Ceremony is used to ensure that a new construction is in harmony with nature, land and Spirit. We communicate our intention to live in balance with surroundings and give thanks for the future support of the occupants.
Blessing Ceremonies can be used to promote a family's general wellbeing and increase the odds for success in particular activities. For business, we use Blessings to promote good fortune and prosperity.
Space Clearing Rituals are used to clear predecessors' energies from buildings including emotional and old stagnant energies. In some cases these rituals deal with clearing entities and other unwanted elemental forces that are non-compatible with human activities.
Who needs Space Clearing?

We all create a certain amount of psychic grunge on a daily basis, which leaves a residue in our homes in the same way as everyday living creates cleaning and tidying which needs to be done on a physical level. A journalist who interviewed my teacher Karen Kingston quoted, "Most of us are probably living in the psychic equivalent of a rubbish dump".
Very few western homes are so well designed that there are no areas where energy gets stuck. Most buildings are designed without any thought being given to the way energy can flow around them, and awkwardly positioned furniture can then add to the problems. How much stuck energy builds up depends on the Feng Shui of a place (how well energy flows around it) and the activities of the people who are living in the place.
If you are living or working in a building that has been occupied by other people before you, you will have not just your own psychic residue to contend with but theirs too. In some cases, the higher levels of this residue can be beneficial. Supposing you are newly married and you move into a home where the previous occupants were very happy together. This can greatly enhance your relationship.
But supposing you are not so fortunate, and the couple who lived there before you argued a lot or even got divorced. Time and time again in my consultancy practice I am called in because a previously idyllic marriage has run into difficulties after moving to a new house, and the cause is discovered to be the energy left by the departing occupants. Or a business has moved to new premises and runs into financial trouble, just as the previous owner did. Or a whole family inexplicably starts to put on or lose weight like the family who lived there before.
The variations are endless. Space Clearing clears out these lower levels of stuck energy that hinder our progress, whilst leaving the beneficial higher levels intact.
I have space cleared ancestral homes centuries old where the build-up of stuck energy stood three feet thick off the walls and felt like psychic treacle or molasses. I have also space cleared 20-year old buildings that felt nearly as dense, simply due to the amount of mental and emotional traffic in that space in such a short period of time.
I very, very rarely come across buildings that do not need any Space Clearing at all. Even in brand new buildings there is much which needs to be done - the Space Clearing ceremony can be adapted to create a powerful consecration ceremony, to bring in the most beneficial frequencies for the new occupants right from the start.
Times to consider Space Clearings:

- To enhance tradititonal feng shui
- To clear out the energy of the previous occupants of a place
- To help you move from an old home or workplace and find a new one
- To assist the healing process of anyone living in your home who is ill

- To prepare for a new birth
- To enhance your spiritual development
- To help you manifest what you want in your life (more prosperity, a new relationship, etc)
- To increase your vitality
- To improve your sex life (a lovely little side effect of clearer energy in the bedroom!)
- To deep-cleanse a meditation space
- To give you a sense of belonging in a place (allowing you to put down roots)
- To improve harmony and productivity in the workplace
- To enhance profits in business
