I told myself this morning that today is the day that I will write my quarterly newsletter. The story is that I sat at my desk for a while doing anything but. I had several ideas but my thoughts were scattered and I didn't have enough clarity to express them. After some time passed I understood the reason why I could not write anything. My office definitely didn't look like a creative, supportive sanctuary at this time. After two vacations this summer and being busy with my work, I just didn't have enough time to read and sort mail, magazines, receipts, etc. The desk was cluttered and in general the energy didn't feel light, clear and joyful as it usually does. Indeed, things felt a bit stuck. So, I started sorting things on my desk, filing them into folders and getting rid of what I did not need. I cleaned some dust and moved things around to change the energy. I lit some incense and also went outside, cut a few flowers from my garden and placed them on my desk. I spent two hours on all of this and as a result it felt so much lighter and happier in my office! While doing all of this the ideas for my newsletter came and here is what I wanted to share with you: Feng Shui and Health Feng Shui these days goes far beyond the approach that was used centuries and even decades ago. We have to deal with polluted environments and the side effects of modern technology as well as higher levels of stress, anxiety and a very fast pace of life. Traditionally, Feng Shui is known for creating balanced and beautiful environments that will support the occupants' wealth, relationships and luck. Creating a harmonious sanctuary in your home will support not only the above but it will have a great impact on your physical and mental health. In my practice I have seen a strong correlation between bad Feng Shui and stress and health issues. Here are some Feng Shui situations that might have deteriorating effect on your health:
Geopathology ("geo” – earth, "pathology” – the study of illness) is a field that has been developed in Germany over the last 70 years. It studies the influence of earth energies on a person's health. Harmful earth energies could be caused by underground watercourses, earth fault lines and so called earth grids which can be detected by dowsing; something a Feng Shui consultant should know how to perform. Because of Feng Shui's ability to alleviate this sort of stress the government of Austria subsidizes the first two hours of a Feng Shui consultation! In general it is advisable not to spend too much time in places that are affected by these stressed energies and therefore it is important to avoid placing your bed and desk in such areas. European studies have shown a significant correlation between chronic health issues and geopathic stress. The body's energy gets continually drained while spending several years sleeping or sitting in such places. This weakens the immune system which often results in disturbed sleep patterns, tiredness and the development of some chronic illnesses. If you notice that...
These symptoms might be related to geopathic stress Electromagnetic and Microwave Radiation This is a modern day monster that we have created and are just now starting to feel its effects. The effects of strong electromagnetic radiation have not been studied very well as of yet but some scientific communities and consumer groups have become alarmed about the potential health risks and consequences. All of us have so many electronic appliances in our proximity all day long, at night and even during our nature trips. Our immune system is not used to this! It is getting used to it actually, but at a much slower rate than the speed at which we surround ourselves with additional sources of EMR and MWR. So, my advice would be:
Clutter I have seen many times in my practice that having too much clutter negatively affects not only general well being but also health, mental clarity, the ability to concentrate, the ability to create and even lowers self-esteem. Clearing out clutter is a quick way to feel healthier, happier, lighter and more joyful. Here are few examples of clutter:
